Well we went to the writer center and had to comment and our classmates blogs. To me that felt kind of weird because I really dont like reading other peoples writing because that sometimes makes me think like " oh mine sucks" or just think im not a good writer as they are.I also i did not know what to comment them because i felt like if i was repeating what they had just talked about or i was afraid i would sound fake. Its not all bad this does has its good things because your helping out a friend and your telling them that you really liked their blog. I left a few comments to my peers and told them positive and things I liked about their essay but sadly I didnt get a comment or maybe I didnt see it. This was a really good idea because you can see all of your peers opinion and read what they think and maybe that will help you understand things a different was or just see things better. Its a good feeling knowing someone liked your blog or thought it was interesting, that can really boost someones confidence up and feel more comfortable writing.

What we did today in class was to discuss the essay we have to do. Mrs. Crawford went over some basic but IMPORTANT strategies and ways to do your essay. The examples she gave us was to make a time line and write down what happened in each minute of the vlog. When we create the time line we list all the senses you can figure out, well the only senses you will use will be sight,hear and touch.She really made clear to do those things and really use alot of details in the essay.The reason we have to do a time line because the essay is a descriptive essay and you have to follow minute by minute and thats why the vlog had to be more than 5 minutes long, if you do a short vlog you wont have that much to talk about and the assignment is to do 5 or more paragraphs and i dont think a short vlog well cover all that.After we covered all of that we sat down with a partner and discussed each others vlog and helped them out on what to put on their time line and they did the same. This timeline really helped me to see all the important things i had to see , like all the things the teacher asked us to do. I never thought this would really helped me and what proved me that it did really work was when i watched the video i grabbed a piece of paper and made a time line and started writing notes. All the notes i wrote down were accurate and were in order. Before i even knew about this i had seen the same vlog and not understand what it was talking about but when i did the time line it all fell into place, everything seemed so clear it was like looking yourself in the mirror. So now this had made me a better writer and a better video watcher because i never saw these things, now i can actually have something to write about and not be stuck like i was

The vlog i chose was about this little freshmen from the UK that was just trying out this whole vlog thing. The title of this vlog was called " Very First Vlog" Well this vlog starts with this boy eating some chips, andsaying that this is first vlog and that he had made videos before but that was when he was younger. He starts talking about the differences between high school and elementaty, some of the differences were the kind of work they do and that in high school they dont have recess.Through out the video the boy keeps eating those chips, the sound really get me annoyed because he crunches really disturbing.Then the video changes and he says " I have a new computer and the only song i have on iTunes is this" and you wouldnt believe the song it was! "Making My Way Downtown", Ha that really made this video more interesting. The boy was lip singing and doing all these funny faces and sort of dancing too.All of a sudden it came to a stop and boy said that he liked singing and that he had made his own version of the song so he sang the song and it sounded pretty good. Next the boy thought he was funny or something because he was acting like if he was an orchestra instructor because he kept moving his hand in different motions just like the instructorhttp://www.wordcounttool.com/s do. He tried to waste time by showing the audience the "old" finger magic trick, but that didnt seem to work out because it was just pointless. Following that he just started talking about another program that his computer had and he just simply demonstrated it to the audience, the program was basically a program that made your face turn into various ways and shapes. He just kept messing with that and being dumb.He ended this video by telling the audience to rate the video and for people to subscribe, I know I would not do that because it was a dumb video but yet kind of funny.

I watched a very interesting video on Youtube called “ An Anthropological Introduction to You Tube” by Mike Wesch. This video is not like the other videos on Youtube, this video is about an hour and it talks about important things and things people would want to know. Mike said a couple of important facts that cauhgt my attention, one of the fact were that Youtube produced more viewers in 6 months than more than 3 networks in 60 years. If you tell me thats a lot of viewers, well Youtube is worldwide so it sounds reasonable.Mike made a video the week of the Supernowl and you know how all those commercials make millions of dollars when thier played, well he made a simple home video that didnt cost him anything and made it to be the # 1 video watched that day, well with a little help from his wife because she kept refreshing the video so the views would increase. Youtube can make people famous too, thier was this song that was made by these italians called " Numa Numa " it travel from Italy to Japan, to Japan to California and from California to New Jersey. When it got to New Jersey their was this man that made this video singing this song, they said he just did it cause he liked that song but had no idea this video was going to be a hit and make him famous, well not famous famous but just in Youtube.Another person that became famous was this teen that made up a dance " Crank That Soulja Boy " that dance and song became famous that the kid or teen that did that video now has a record deal and he is making other songs.After seeing this video made me realize that Youtube is a big part of our lives, we search everything on their like from music videos,how to videos, vlogs, and more things that you would want to see and its another way to communicate with family and yet maybe make you famous.I considered this video very informative and entertaining I like Mike's sense of humor.

Well i personally think that the difference between the actual email etiquette and the blog was that the etiquette was taken seriously because it was a major grade and it was going to affect your grade if you didnt do it. I mean blogs are important too, they count for a grade too but i dont know i also think we didnt take it all serious because it was like our third blog and we were like barely getting use to this whole blog thing. Another difference was that for the etiquette we had actually some time to think about, like we had steps to follow, we had rules we had go by their was just more things to do and plus i was writing an email to a teacher, unlike in blog number 3 i was writing to a friend and that was totally different. The reason of that is because when i write to a friend about a bad grade i can say anything i want, like for example i would be able to say that the teacher doesnt like me or the teacher has his or her favorites just things i wouldnt tell a teacher. Another difference is that i had help on my etiquette because i read it to my peers and they told me what was wrong with it and i also took it to the writing center and they also made some changes and as for the blog i just had to think something out of my head that i hate doing because im scared it may sound cheesy or just funky. When i did the blog i had no idea what i was doing but now i know how to write a letter to a teacher asking about a bad grade and ask them if they could reconsider it, this can be really helpful for the future i may need it some day.

Today we did a group activity were we read our essays or emails whatever you want to call it, we read it to the group we were in and we had to do it out loud so our members could hear it and maybe help us out with it. I think that was a great idea because like that we know how our email sounds to other people and by that i mean like we think our email may sound excellent but to other people it may sound completely different they may think its good but stuff may be missing or things may not seem right. Its not only good for them to hear mine its also good for me to hear my peers email as well because they may have something different that you may like and you would like to put in your email as well. What this activity does is for you to listen to opinions and take them because they say them for a reason. We not only had to read them to our peers or our group but we HAD to go to the writing center and i capitalized had because that is how important it was. Well we had to go to the writing center so the people from their would hear it and give us advice on it and add some stuff to it. My experience there was good because they changed some things but it was still me writing, like they did not made my paper seem like if i was a great writer, they just make your paper sound way better and that is a really good help because that takes a lot of stress off. So next time i have a paper to do i know exactly where to go!

Today in class we discussed articles talking about internet dating. The first article that was presented was “Is eHarmony Biased Against Gays?” by John Cloud. This was a really interesting article to me because it is written by a gay man and that was looking for love but he felt he that his love was not what he expected as by what eHarmony said. This man was really offended, because on the main page it only gave him two options either “Men seeking Woman”or “Woman seeking Man”. So of course he did not find a category he would fit in because he was looking for a Male mate and in the options their was not an option that said “Men seeking Man”. The man belived that the reason that eHarmony didnt have this option was because either the founder was against Gay relationships or because his religion didnt accept that. Also the founder of eHarmony said that their were a lot of couples reported married and that some states allowed it, when i read that i thought that he was like in favor but i kept reading along and i was sure to myself that this guy had no heart because he said since they were gay he said its better for everyone if they just ignore them. In my opinion i do not think that is right i do not care if your against it or your religion does not believe in that, just know that we are all humans and god created us all the same and no one should disrespect that, i do not care if your the president or a owner of a huge company. So I think this Mr. Warren guy should re update his eHarmony shit and allow gays to search for their mate like it says on the website "The person of your dreams is waiting for you. Meet them now!"

In today's class discussion we talked about our assignment that we had to do. The assignment was to write an email to your teacher telling them about a bad grade and how you dont agree and to see if he or she can change it. We went over the basics and the steps we had to do. Mrs. Crawford said this would be a big part of our grade so it was important for us to do it. Mrs. Crawford also gave us a paper that showed us step by step on how to do the assignment.What helped me out the most was the example she gave us, she talked about a crazy girlfriend or wife that caught her mate cheating and she wanted to tell the husband of the girl that was with her mate. So our instructor showed us how to use the " To, From , Subject " i already knew all of that but the thing i didnt know was the "CC and BCC". Well CC is carbon copy and that is like another place to put an email address its more like a "To". BCC is a hiding and mysterious but yet very cool way to send a email to two people without one person knowing you sent it to the other person, basically you bcc hides the email. More little details we have to do on this email project, well the font needs to be Times Roman Numeral (12pt), it has to be in MLA format, it has to have a signature and phone and email address. All i know is that i better do this essay even though writing is not my favorite thing to do because if i dont this will affect my grade really bad.

What we discussed in class on Friday was about iphoning, i know i had already made a blog about it before but we got more into the subject. What we mostly discussed was that people have jobs and do good things when they own an iPhone. There was a bunch of students who took special technology classes and by taking those classes they learned how to make apps and everything, i know making apps is not a big thing but wow taking classes for an iPhone is pretty crazy and pretty worthless because i know i like technology nut i would not waste my money or time to take a class about that. There is even students that teach the class, i find that really funny and weird because i am so use to having teachers that are older than me, i dont think i would take a young teacher serious well maybe i would but most likely not. As much I think this is bad their is alot of good things like by making this you can make money by selling the apps to apple like for example one student from The Institute of New Jersey sold two apps to apple and sold them for 0.99 cents and now has sold like more than 1000 buy, that may not seem like alot of money but hey he made it so easily.Another good thing is that apps may help you in life they may help you with anything and if it wasnt for theses people life wouldnt be this easy, i mean i dont know about you but i like my life to be as easy as possible i mean cmon who doesnt. Many more universities offer these classes now so this iphone classes are getting pretty serious dont you think?

Yesterday in class we discussed some articles that were really interesting, one was " Texting The Gr8 Db8" that's been a problem for quite a while. People these days text instead of having a normal conversation, about more 50 percent of the people these days text to someone other than have a normal conversation. Texting messes us up, by giving us bad grammar problems and making us be lazy, I think its up to the people to text in a bad grammar way because i text normally with the right grammar so its just up to the person. People say that texting is just a faze and that we will get over it but I really dont see the bad in texting its just something we like just like, the Beatles, Disco Era, I mean it's what people are doing Im not saying we are followers its just that this is what people are doing now. Texting has increased so much i remember in middle school we didnt text that much and that was like 7 years ago. Now people text for everything, even elementary kids text, thats how much this has grown.
Another article we read was " Reading , Writing , Iphoning ", this article was about the evolution this world has come too, like before ( we still do ) we used a pen/ pencil to write something such as a letter, essay , note etc., but now we use technology we use our iphone or smart phone. Iphoning has gone to the extreme, some schools are giving free iphones and laptops just by going to their school, they know people this age like those things and would do anything. They have created a bunch of apps just to improve life and even in schools, so they are not that bad a people say they are.

Well on on Friday's English class we went over the syllabus and i saw all the upcoming assignments and i really liked them a lot. This is class is not your ordinary class, it seems like a technology class but it is really good that its like this because it makes the class better. Some assignments were really tough but hey i like a challenge and i know if i do that, it will help me improve in all my weaknesses. I'm really excited to do the Facebook , Myspace , and YouTube assignment because thats a thing a use in a daily basis well except for Facebook because i dont have one but maybe after this assignment i will like it and maybe have one. What really got my attention was the point process Mrs. Crawford grades us in, i've never had a teacher that graded me like this and i think that method is really good.The whole groups things are a great idea, especially the groups going up and presenting the assignments that they were assign, i think students learn more like that by having groups because you know what they say " two heads are better than one", well actually is more than two heads but yeah you know what i mean. What kind of surprised me was the whole internet dating thing i think we are too young for those things ha, i would be good if i was 27 and single but no you never know who the person really is and everything, they might be a crazy person or just not your type. Those were the only things that caught my attention other than that i think i am going to have a great semester in this class and I want to sign up with this same teacher for the next semester.

How are things at Texas A&M? I'm hoping everything is going well.
Well all i I want to talk to you about is my bad grade in my reading class, man I am having so much trouble in that class and I need your help and you were the first person that came into my mind.Well I am having trouble in a lot of things, for example; I hate reading, I know that's a big part of life you need reading for everything such as math, science, social studies and many many more things, but the whole reading doesn't catch my attention and i get bored easily. Another problem I have is finding the main idea of the story or the parragraph, I can never get that and it makes me so mad, I dont know why they make so many rules and methods if the only thing you have to learn is to read. Let's see I know their is more..? oh yeah I do not know where to put the commas I just put them where I think they belong, sometimes i feel like I put too many of them and sometimes I dont put none at all. My teachers always had that complaint about me but I really didnt pay attention to them. Well I bet your wondering why im telling you all of this? Well the reason is that I have a bad grade and i want you to help me because I know your really good at reading, I know so because you helped me all through high school. Most people have thier own writting process and skills but I think mine is really unique. Before anything i stare at the topic for like 5 to 10 minutes i dont know why but i have done that ever since i was a kid, I think the reason for that is that i hate writting so i just stare and think " Do i really have to do this?". Well when i stop staring at the topic i start to draw in random places on the paper,such as little faces, crosses or just my name, believe it or not that really helps my thinking and my concentration.Another thing i do is just stare in space and just sit their looking like a dumb person if its not that i talk to myself, i know what your thinking " Is this guy crazy?", well im not okay. After i get that done I start writting my essay, I dont do no rough draft or nothing I think thats a waste of time and I really cant think when i have to plan it. While im doing that i have to text or have something else to do because i get bored easily, people tell me thats not good but oh well thats how i get my work done. When i finish with that i juggle my soccer ball and listen to my ipod while doing that, i dont know but that has always worked for me. Eventually i get tired of doing all these things so i just get to my paper and finish it, man i never knew writting a would be more than just writting

Technology Is Taking Over!!

How do I use technology in life? Technology is a really big part of my everyday thing I always have to use some kind of technology, For example I use my cell phone to text and to communicate with my friends in family, I even use my cell phone to find places such as resuturants, stores, gas stations and other locations. Computers are also a big part of the technology now in days.Computers are a big part of my everyday thing i use them to do my homework, serch the internet to look for information, or maybe just to communicate with other people. Another technology i use alot is my Ipod, that is a really really big part of me without that i would feel lost and feel like something is missing because music relaxes me. Well thats how i use technology in my every day life.
